Join the World Explorers Club on a 14-day expedition to the mysterious deserts of Nazca and Paracas and the wonders of Cuzco and Machu Picchu. We depart Saturday, Feb. 25, and fly to Lima, the capital of Peru. After two nights in the posh Miraflores district, we depart by chartered bus down the Pan-American Highway into the Atacama Desert. Our first stop is the Ica Oasis, where we overnight. The next day we visit the local museums famous for their elongated skulls and travel further south to mysterious Nazca. After flying over the baffling Nazca Lines, we head back north, stopping in Paracas, where we see the extraordinary Chongos Pyramid where many of the strange skulls were excavated, and take a boat trip to nearby islands to see the Candlestick of the Andes. Day 1: Fly from any major destination in the USA to Lima. We arrive late and transfer direct to the hotel. Overnight at Hotel El Condado, Miraflores. www.condado.com.pe
Day 2: Meeting of the whole group at the breakfast room. Visit to the Gold Museum. Overnight at Hotel El Condado.
Day 3: After breakfast, we depart Lima and drive south by chartered bus to the world famous sand dunes and oasis of Las Dunas, near Ica. Overnight at the Las Dunes Hotel. http://lasdunashotel.com

Day 5: Fly over the Nazca hills and plains to view the most famous of the enigmatic Nazca figures. Overnight at the Casa Andina Classic Nazca.

Day 7: Morning boat Trip to view the mysterious Candlestick of the Andes and islands of birds and seals. In the afternoon we visit the Chongos Pyramid and local museum of strange elongated skulls. Overnight at the DoubleTree Resort Paracas.
Day 8: Drive back to Lima. Overnight at Hotel El Condado.
Day 9: Fly to wonderful Cuzco in the Andes Mountains of Peru. After checking into our hotel we take a short walking tour of megalithic Cuzco, visiting the important Qoriqancha Sun Temple once covered in gold leaf. Day 10: We tour the megalithic walls of Sacsayhuaman on the hills above Cuzco. Afternoon free. You will have the Cuzco Pass, which allows you entrance to several local attractions like the Regional Museum on the square and an art display. Overnight at the Tierra Viva Cusco Plaza.
Day 11: We go by bus to Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley. Visit the megalithic construction at the Sun Fortress on a cliff. Overnight at the El Albergue Ollantaytambo, located at the railway station. http://www.elalbergue.com
Day 12: All day trip via train and bus to Machu Picchu. Return via train to Ollantaytambo. Overnight at the El Albergue Ollantaytambo.
Day 13: We return by bus to Cuzco. Afternoon free. Some of the best shopping in Peru! Overnight at the Tierra Viva Cusco Plaza.
Day 14. We depart for the Cuzco airport and fly back to Lima. Depart via Lima airport back to your city in the USA on an overnight flight, landing on
Day 15, Saturday, March 11.
Note: All flights, bus and train trips inside Peru are included. Breakfasts are included with the room in Peru, so these meals, as offered by the hotel, are included. All other meals and drinks are excluded. Snacks are served on flights and the train to Machu Picchu.
